The crop which is familiar to the locals has potential to be used in poverty eradication which stands at 58.3 according to KNBS Kenya Poverty Report 2021. According to Dr. Chrispus Oduori seed breeder at KALRO, putting all other factors constant, a farmer is capable of harvesting twelve bags of 90kgs on an acre and on local markets, a kilo is trading at KSH.120.  Oduor says, Kenya has now 15 breeds of finger millet and Teso south is best for type U15.Dr. Catherine Lengewa, Director at CBCC claims that since the region has been doing millet farming for a while, the only missing link is the connection to breeders for better quality seeds, link to high end markets and community sensitization on the unseen benefits of the crop to the community which they will do as an organization. Since climate change is affecting farmers across Africa, using resilience crops like millet gives a better solution besides food security. Authority has assigned frequencies to 155 Commercial FM broadcasters and 37 Community FM broadcasters countrywide. Media for Environment Science Health and Agriculture ( MESHA) Though Aghan Daniel, Kiundu Waweru and Ann Mikia participated in the evening talk show to enlighten Tandaza FM listeners on the role of radio in communicating science, wildlife and biodiversity, and having ethics during radio presentation. According to Aghan, a good radio science program is the one that a 12 year old can easily listen and comprehend. '' Among the many roles of MESHA in shaping journalists, the key one is connecting them to specific experts in different fields so that they can help in finding a solution to problem effecting communities.'' Said Aghan.  Media for Environment, Science, Health, and Agriculture (MESHA) founded by Mr. Daniel Aghan, is an association of journalists and communicators who are specialized in environmental, agriculture, health, technology, and development reporting. It is a non-partisan and not for profit making organization that has been in existence since October 2005. To date, it is the leading science media network with a large footprint in Africa. The network publishes a regular magazine called Sayansi, a swahili word for science. The network empowers her ever growing members, now at 101, through organizing cafes, boot camps, workshops, and trainings where experts are pulled closer to journalists. In 2023, the network has planned for 45 activities and two cross border activities have already taken place. During the 50 minute talk show that included call inns from listeners spread across nine counties of Western Kenya within Tandaza catchment area,  Ann Mikia had her fair share to remind her audience that radio is fast and so one has to make sure that he or she speaks what is harmless.
